Katie’s Vintage Fashion Senior Photos

I’d bet money on Katie Cyr in a Lana Del Rey look alike contest, this girl has the style down to an art. Katie goes to South Anchorage Highschool and I am so happy she found her way to me, taking photos of her was a blast… from the past anyone?Image

Whitney & Brandon’s New Year Wedding!

Whitney & Brandon are awesome!!

I had the pleasure of ringing in the New Year by photographing Whitney & Brandon’s wedding at the Sheraton Hotel in Anchorage!  Whitney & Brandon are amazing, and I am so happy for them as they start out on this new adventure together. It always warms my heart to see two people so totally in love with each other. I’ve heard it said that the friends you keep say a lot about who you are, and that is certainly the case with Whitney and Brandon, every guest that attended was so sweet and kind that it made the night that much more wonderful. Beautiful wedding, beautiful couple, and here’s wishing you a wonderfully beautiful marriage and family!

Christian’s Urban Winter Senior Photos

I’ve been looking forward to Christian’s senior photos since he called the studio last week. Christian wanted to have senior photos taken downtown around the more industrial areas. I love shooting on snowy days like today, it makes the cold much more bearable! We started out at our 5th ave portrait studio, Treft.Punkt than traversed the snowdrifts of 4th avenue and Ship Creek. Christian was an awesome model, and didn’t even complain once. Alaskans sure are a hearty stock! Congratulations Christian, can’t wait to see what the future holds for you!

Charlee’s Rustic Winter Senior Photos

I have been looking forward to this shoot for months, ever since Charlee’s mom called us at Treft.Punkt to schedule her winter photo session. I love shooting in the winter, this may be helped by the fact that I never have to wear a dress in the cold! Charles was a trooper though, and she and her brother Mitch stood there patiently and cheerily for me as I took them from place to place for pictures. I took Mitch’s senior photos last year, and the two shoots could not have been more different! Mitch doesn’t have long flowing blonde hair and doesn’t wear makeup, I did the best I could with him and his rockstar style. I swear I thought about stealing Charlee’s dog at least three times, he’s so cute it’s ridiculous! Thanks for being an amazing model and for such a fun time Charlee, you are just as beautiful inside as you are stunning outside!

Stevie and Buck’s Kenai Lodge Nuptuals

Pulling into the Salmondoux Lodge the last minute touches were being made on the front lawn, while the sounds of children playing floated in the air along with the scent of a fire still smoldering in the distance. People scurried from here to there in a way that seemed to match the rivers nearby bustle.

In a cabin not far from the bustle, Stevie and her accomplices were busy primping and polishing bantering back and forth in a deliciously sarcastic way only the best of friends can.
Throughout the day you could see what a family Stevi and Buck have, of friends who are warm and welcoming, and relatives who care so much for both of them.
Even as a photographer I felt more like I was attending one of my family’s reunions in Oregon rather than a formal occasion. though teleprompted surreptitiously from the front seats, their vows showed the same love and admiration for one another I saw throughout the day. I have to say that this wedding was one I’ll remember for a long time. I wish you all the best Stevie & Buck, you are both amazing and I know your future will be full of love and laughs.
